The Kent State Tuscarawas Baseball Team dropped a doubleheader to CCAC Boyce on Sunday afternoon at Fondriest Field on the campus of TCC High School, as their season record fell to 3-5 on the season.

In the opener it was all Boyce as the Golden Eagles struggled at the plate and in the field as the visitors plated eight (8) runs in the second inning and seven (7) more in the third to jump out to a 15-0 lead. CCAC scattered 14 hits, while the Golden Eagles managed just four safeties and made three fielding miscues. The Eagles managed a single run in the bottom of the fourth inning and fell 20-1 in a game shortened five innings. Blaze Clark continued his hot hitting streak with two singles in the opener.

The second game was much better for the Navy and Gold as they scored first and took an early lead of 6-2 after three innings. Clark doubled home two Golden Eagles runners and moved to third on a single by Luke Kail before Easton Guspyt blasted a three-run homer over the fence in right-center field to build a four-run cushion. The Eagles added several more tallies to take a 9-3 lead late in the game and seemed to be in full control.

The top of the seventh inning presented a different story, as the Boyce batters ran through their lineup and with the help of several errors, scored nine (9) runs to take a 12-9 lead into the home half of the inning. The Golden Eagles responded and loaded the bases but failed to score and dropped the final game of the afternoon. In the game KSU Tusc had 11 hits and were lead by Guspyt with a homer and a single, Kade Rainsberg with three singles and Austin Black and Luke Kail with two singles apiece.

On the afternoon, Rainsberg was 4/5 with four singles and two RBIs, Clark 3/7 with a double, two singles and two RBIs, while Guspyt was 2/6 with a roundtripper, single and three RBIs.
