Trinity Christian's Castillo Signs With Golden Eagles Baseball

Kent State University at Tuscarawas is announcing the signing of a 2024 Trinity Christian (Lubbock, TX) senior to their baseball team.

On December 8th, 2023, Cayden Castillo signed a National Letter of Intent to suit up for the Golden Eagles.

Castillo, a pitcher/first baseman and three-year letter winner for the Lions, has showcased exceptional talent on the baseball field including earning honors as a two-time Honorable Mention All-District player and Honorable Mention All- City. He has also demonstrated leadership capabilities by actively participating in stewardship roles during his junior and senior years of high school. He has received recognition for his contributions, earning a Leadership Council award in his junior year and is anticipating another in the coming year.

In threee consecutive years, he has his dedicated his Christmas break to mission work and December 2023 will mark a fourth straight year of ministry. Castillo's journey began in his freshman year of high school when he ventured to San Antonio to work with the homeless and those facing poverty, shedding light on hope even in the darkest of times. He continued this altruistic pursuit, traveling to Georgia to aid the homeless and then to Houma, LA, rebuilding houses through construction projects after a hurricane destroyed the area. An upcoming mission to Medellin, Colombia, with the mission group 911 Life, will further continue his service to helping the homeless and spreading goodwill.

He will pursue a Bachelor's of Business Administration / Business Management degree at Kent State Tuscarawas.

"Cayden has worked hard and has all the tools to really excel at this level of play" said Cole Morozek, Head Baseball Coach for Kent State Tuscarawas. "He has a bright future ahead of him on the playing field and will be in the top three pitchers in our rotation. He has an outstanding track record in the classroom and loves to give back to his community. As a baseball player he has done well throughout his high school career, but the sky is the limit for Cayden. We are excited to have him as a member of the Golden Eagles Baseball team."

Kent State Tuscarawas is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).
