The Kent State Tuscarawas basketball team traveled to Hillsboro, Ohio, on Friday night for a matchup that had all the makings of a trap game.

The Golden Eagles are ranked 13th nationally and have a revenge game with #2 ranked UC Clermont on Saturday. The Navy and Gold had already beaten the Patriots by 57 points (106-49) a couple weeks ago and the Patriots just picked up their first win of the season last week. And, an already long trip to Southern State seemed even longer as the team traveled through multiple snow squalls this afternoon.

Throw all those let down scenarios out the window, because this team comes to play every day and by halftime at the Patriot Center the Eagles had taken care of business leading 55-22. They easily dispatched the hosts 101-54 to win for the fifteenth time this season.

Arthur Jackson came off the bench to lead 13 Golden Eagles in the scoring column with 18 points. Andre Leavell added 15 points and Mike Huberty scored 11.

With the win, KSU Tuscarawas is now 15-10 on the season, have won 13 of their last 16 games and nine of their last 10.

There is little time to celebrate or rest for the Eagles who travel to Cincinnati Clermont on Saturday to avenge a 96-88 defeat to the Cougars earlier in the season. Tipoff time is 2 p.m.
