With the release of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Coaches Week 6 Poll, the Kent State Tuscarawas basketball team has moved into the Top 5 for the first-time this season.

The poll, which is released every Wednesday lists Kent State Tuscarawas as the USCAA D2, No. 4 team in the land, as they trail No. 1, Penn State York (16-2), No. 2, Penn State Wilkes Barre (12-4) and No. 3, Southern Maine (13-4) last year's D2 National Champions. Previously ranked No. 6 in the Week 5 poll, the Eagles inched up with a huge win over fellow USCAA D2, No. 5 foe Villa Maria College.

Winners of 12 games against six losses, the Golden Eagles have beaten USCAA D1, No. 2, Bryant & Stratton Buffalo by 21 points, USCAA D1 Maine-Fort Kent by an 86-43 margin, as well as scoring victories over NAIA Point Park University (66-53) and NCAA DIII Westminster College (93-87).

Still remaining on the schedule are big games with USCAA No. 6, Villa Maria College, NAIA Indiana University South Bend, and NCAA DII Central State University besides games against other USCAA D2 opponents. In 2021-2022 the Golden Eagles reached as high as No. 3 in the poll.
