Kent State University at Tuscarawas is announcing the signing of a 2023 Crestline High School senior to their men's basketball team.

On April 24, Isaiah Perry signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Golden Eagles.

Perry, primarily a shooting guard/point guard was a three-year letter winner for the Bulldogs basketball team who play in the Mid Buckeye Conference (MBC) of the Northwest District. He averaged 16.4 points per game and earned First Team MBC honors as a senior, along with being tabbed as a Second Team All Northwest District 6 basketball selection. In 2022 he garnered Honorable Mention All Northwest District honors and was also a First Team All Mid Buckeye Conference track selection the same year.

Academically, he earned a spot on the Crestline Honor Roll three times and was recently named Student of the Month in January.

His community service includes involvement as a LEO Club member who embody the qualities of leadership, experience and opportunity and serve others through various projects to help people in need. He is also a member of Student Council and a student ambassador.

He will pursue a Bachelor's of Arts in Sociology/Criminology at Kent State Tuscarawas.

"Isaiah has been a breakout star for the Bulldogs," said Richard Tharp, Head Basketball Coach for Kent State Tuscarawas. "He is deceptively explosive and can get to the rim with authority or even a crafty move. He has a high basketball mentality and really pushes himself to stay focused and have a solid mindset. He's one of those young men that when you meet him, you feel like you already know him. Besides very personable, caring and relatable, he's a pretty gifted athlete as well."

Kent State Tuscarawas is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).
