Kent State University at Tuscarawas is announcing the signing of a 2023 Mansfield St. Peter's High School graduate to their men's basketball team.

Feree Kent recently signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Golden Eagles.

Kent was a four-year letter winner for the Spartans basketball team and finished his senior season as the leading scorer in the Mid Buckeye Conference (MBC) with an average of 22.3 points per game. He also captured the MBC Top Single Game Scoring mark with 39 points against Loudonville in February of 2023. Kent was also named St. Peter's Basketball MVP for three consecutive seasons (2021, 2022 and 2023).

He will pursue a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology at Kent State Tuscarawas.

"Feree may be a slightly undersized player, but you wouldn't realize it because he has a huge heart and such a passion for the game" said Richard Tharp, Head Men's Basketball Coach for Kent State Tuscarawas. "He plays with a huge motor despite playing for a team that has been vastly shorthanded. He's not one to complain about circumstances and turns every situation into an opportunity and positively supports everyone around him. He will be a great teammate and have a real role in our team's development."

Kent State Tuscarawas is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).
