Golden Eagles Win PSUGA Invitational

The KSU Tusc Golf Team continued their recent solid play on Saturday, as they captured the PSU Greater Allegheny Invitational title for the second straight time.

The Eagles shot a team total of 329, their second-best round of the season, as they captured the champions trophy at Youghiogheny Country Club in McKeesport, PA. They previously won the tournament in 2019 which was not held in 2020 due to the COVID outbreak.

For the second consecutive day, Nick Reeder took home the medalist trophy as he duplicated his winning Friday score of 78 in the Golden Eagle Invitational. Reeder converted one birdie and 10 pars on his way to a two-over par 38 on the outward nine and came home with a 40.

Dakota Wright also had a birdie and 10 pars on the 6349 yard course, making six straight pars to open inward nine as he carded a 41/38 for a score of 79 and finished as runner-up medalist. Cameron McIntosh made two birdies and five pars as he shot a 43/41/84 and Austin Brooks rounded out the scoring with a 43/45/88 for the winning Eagles and was third overall in the individual standings.

Penn State DuBois took second place and were a distant 44 strokes behind KSU Tusc, while the hosts shot 379 to capture third place in the three-team field.

The Golden Eagles will play in the Westminster Titan Invitational on October 4th in their final preparation for the United States Collegiate Athletic Association National Championships at Penn State University on October 11-12.
