A Nick Reeder led Golden Eagles Golf Team finished the first round of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Championship in 10th place of 25 competing teams on Monday afternoon. The two-day tournament is being held on Penn State's Blue Course in State College, PA.

The recent hot streak for Reeder continued as he shot a blistering two-over par 74 on the 6605 yard layout that surrounds Walker Clubhouse. He shot 37 on the outward nine, making four pars and two birdies finishing the last four holes in one under par. On the inward nine, Reeder made six pars and had a birdie on the final hole to finish in a tie for sixth place overall in a field of 130 golfers.

The Navy and Gold have finished in the Top 10 at the USCAA National Golf Championships for five straight appearances and have a good shot at climbing the leaderboard on moving day tomorrow.

Dakota Wright carded a 41/42/83 with eight pars and a birdie to tie for 50th, while Cameron McIntosh went 44/44/88 with seven pars and birdie. Austin Brooks rounded out the scoring with a round of 49/45/94.

The final day of the tournament will be held Tuesday in a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start.
