To say that Monday's appearance in the Peter C. Rossin Memorial Invitational was a brutal test for the Golden Eagles, is an understatement when considering the snail's pace of play on a rain soaked 6850 yard course.

The Golden Eagles slogged their way around the tight and emphatically sloped fairways of Southpointe Golf Club in Canonsburg, PA, only to find themselves at a loss to find a flat lie, or even a straight putt on the lightning-fast greens. They finished their first foray onto Southpointe in ninth place of 11 participating teams with a team score of 387.

The host team, Washington & Jefferson won the title with a team total of 325 in a field stacked full of grossly inflated scores.

For the second consecutive tournament, it was Dakota Wright taking team low honors with a round of 91 which was good enough for 30th place as an individual. Nick Reeder added a 93 (34th place), Cameron McIntosh had a 97 and Scott Sauernheimer a 106.

On April 18, the Eagles wrap up their spring season at the Titan Invitational in New Castle, PA, on the Avalon Field Club course.

Team Standings - Washington & Jefferson 325, Westminster 335, Clarion 341, Penn State Altoona 341, Thiel 345, St. Vincent 362, Grove City 370, Waynesburg 372, KSU Tuscarawas 387, Geneva 389, Bethany 491.

Cameron chips on the 13th green.

Scott hits an approach to the 6th green from the undulating rough surrounding the hole.

Dakota gets the read on a putt and Nick balances himself on a hiilside after hitting a shot at the first hole.
