Golden Eagles Make First Foray Into Fall Ball At PSU Beaver

The Kent State Tuscarawas Softball Team played in the Penn State Beaver Fall Softball Classic on the weekend of September 15, 2018. It was the first time that the team had participated in a fall tournament and even though the team went 0-3 on the day, it was a great way for Coach Chuck Peach to gauge the level of incoming freshman.

The young Golden Eagles squad started the day off playing the host Nittany Lion team and were defeated 6-2. The Navy and Gold gave a good fight to Potomac State before dropping a 3-0 decision and lost the Mercyhurst Northeast 6-0 to complete the afternoon, but all in all it was a great eye-opener for the new freshmen. More than one-half of the Golden Eagle roster is now made up of players making their first transition to collegiate softball.

The Golden Eagles will host a fall classic of their own at Tuscarawas Central Catholic on Saturday, October 6 beginning at noon.
