Kent State University at Tuscarawas is announcing the signing of a 2019 Meadowbrook High School senior to their softball team. On March 13, 2019, Samantha Bright signed a National Letter of Intent to play softball for the Kent State Tuscarawas Golden Eagles.
Bright is a two-year letter winner for the Colts softball team and will play first base this season. She is a Skills USA team member at Mid East Career and Technology Center, where she also sits as vice president of the Yearbook Committee and participates in Mad Lab. She has played on softball travel teams (Electric Storm, Bulldawgs Elite, Thundercats and Dirty Diamonds) since she was 12 years old. Bright has assisted with softball practices and clinics for the 10U & 12U Dirty Diamonds travel teams for three years. She also loves to hunt and fish.
"Samantha is a very versatile player and will give us a lot of options," said Chuck Peach, Head Softball Coach for Kent State Tuscarawas. "She has been hitting the ball extremely well and will get some experience in the infield for the Colts this year. We expect her to step in and contribute right away with her bat. She is also a great student and we are proud to have her as a Golden Eagles softball player."
Kent State Tuscarawas is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).
