Quaker Senior Commits to Play for Golden Eagles Softball Team

Kent State University at Tuscarawas is announcing the signing of a 2019 New Philadelphia High School senior to their softball team. On March 21, 2019,  Maria Sidoti signed a National Letter of Intent to play softball for the Kent State Tuscarawas Golden Eagles.

Sidoti will earn her four-year letter for the Quakers softball team this spring had several multi-hit games last season. She plays third base and is a great student as NPHS as well. This year she earned her fourth academic letter and will be graduating with cum laude honors in June. Her dedication to academics has already earned her a $500 scholarship at KSU Tuscarawas. She currently attends Kent State Tusc as a College Credit Plus student. Maria has been active with Special Olympics for two years and has also helped coach softball clinics throughout her high school career. She will major in business management at Kent State Tuscarawas.

"Our campus and softball team are very happy to welcome Maria," said Chuck Peach, Head Softball Coach for Kent State Tuscarawas. "She is one of the kindest young ladies you will ever meet and her thirst for education extends well beyond the classroom. She is a true student of the game, a very hard worker, and very thoughtful in her approach."

Kent State Tuscarawas is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).
