Eagles Drop Three In Hocking Tournament

The KSU Tusc volleyball team struggled and lost all three best-of-three matches played in the Hocking College Round Robin Tournament in Nelsonville, OH on Saturday.

In the first match the Golden Eagles dropped a 25-19/25-10 match to Alice Lloyd College. The first set was a back-and-forth affair, but the victorious Eagles were in command for the entire second set.

The second match saw the host Hawks down the Navy and Gold in the latter's closest match of the day. The Golden Eagles lost late in the first set 25-16 and were upended 27-25 in an exciting final set.

To close out the day, the Golden Eagles lost 25-6 to Potomac State and played a spirited final set before falling 26-24. Mya Blochlinger (Hiland) had a breakout game with 10 digs and seven kills to lead KSU.

On the afternoon, Blochlinger had 18 digs, 12 kills and two blocks to lead the Golden Eagles, while Lindsey Seibert (Claymont) had 14 digs, four kills and three service aces and Lilli Peterson (Tusky Valley) added 12 digs, four kills and two blocks.

On Sunday the Golden Eagles will close out tournament play with a match against Cincinnati Clermont College at 10:30 a.m.
