Eagles Sign Warriors Carpenter To Volleyball Letter Of Intent

Kent State University at Tuscarawas is announcing the signing of a 2024 Buckeye Trail High School senior to their volleyball team.

On Friday, Ally Carpenter signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Golden Eagles.

Carpenter is a four-year letter winner for the Warriors volleyball team, who play in the North Division of the Inter Valley Conference in the East District. She broke a school record this season with 32 digs in a single match, received a 2022 IVC Honorable Mention award along with a serving award, and was her team's digs leader in 2022 and 2021 with 22 digs in a single match. She also led the Warriors with 22 receptions in matches during the 2022 and 2021 seasons and was the leading passer in 2021. She is on track to break three school records this season and has also lettered in track & field. She was also nominated by her peers as Senior Student Section Leader for the Buckeye Trail cheering section.

Academically, she has a 3.4 cumulative GPA and has taken College Credit Plus classes through Zane State and Ohio University during her senior and junior years. Ally will pursue a Bachelor's of Science in Early Childhood Education degree at Kent State Tuscarawas.

Her community service includes three years of volunteerism in litter pickup around Buckeye Trail HS and the greater Cambridge area community. She has also lent her services to make signage for school events. Her efforts earned her a Community Service Diploma Seal and a BTHS Student Engagement Diploma Seal.

"We are excited to have a player with Ally's talent coming to us," said Cortney Goodwin, Head Volleyball Coach for Kent State Tuscarawas. "She really excels on the court, has a passion for volleyball and is great at digging and receiving which will help keep us in system. However, she is also a standout in the classroom and loves to give back to her community. Ally will be a huge asset to our team and campus."
