Kent State University at Tuscarawas is announcing the signing of a 2024 South Range High School senior to their volleyball team.

On Thursday, Madie Mook signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Golden Eagles.

Mook was a three-year varsity letter winner for the Raiders. She was selected as Team Captain by her teammates as a senior, and as a sophomore she also started playing for Thunder Volleyball Club that finished third in the Ohio Valley Region. She broke the South Range volleyball record for aces with 68, eclipsing the old record of 60 and earned OHSAA Northeast District 1 Honorable Mention honors.

She has a 3.75 cumulative GPA, is a member of the National Honor Society, has earned 18 credit hours through the College Credit Plus program and will pursue a nursing degree at Kent State Tuscarawas.

Her volunteerism includes coaching 8U and 10U softball and packing food for families in need through the United Way. She was also a member of the prom committee, helped with the school's mitten tree project and delivered Christmas presents to needy families. Mook has multiple middle school volleyball camps and practices to her credit as well.

"We are excited to add Madie's athleticism and positive energy to our program," said Cortney Goodwin, Head Volleyball Coach at Kent State Tuscarawas. "We are expecting big things offensively from her next season. She will also be a great asset to our campus and community at large."

Kent State Tuscarawas is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).
