Kent State University at Tuscarawas is announcing the signing of a 2024 Massillon Perry High School senior to their volleyball team.

Samantha Uhlman recently signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Golden Eagles.

Uhlman is a two-year letter winner and starter for the Panthers volleyball team and plays for the Ohio Extreme Athletics volleyball club team located in North Canton, OH, as well. In 2022 her Extreme team came in first place in the bronze division at the Marietta College and East Side Volleyball Club tournaments. They also finished second in the gold division at the Cleveland State University tournament. In 2024, she will be playing on two different teams for Top Flight Ohio Volleyball Club.

She has been in Honors Math for all four years of high school and earned four academic letters as well. Uhlman has earned certifications in First Aid and CPR, and became OSHA certified her junior year while also earning a certificate as a Career Technical Education Honor Student.

During her senior year, she has been overseeing the construction of an animal kennel in the Small Animal Science program at the Stark County Career Academy located in Canton South High School. She is volunteer at the local veterinarian office after school hours.

She will pursue a veterinary technology degree at Kent State Tuscarawas.

"Samantha will be a utility front row player for us and has club experience playing all three front row positions," said Cortney Goodwin, KSU Tuscarawas Head Volleyball Coach. "She's very motivated as evidenced by her dedication to service learning and through her many certifications. She brings valuable experience to our team."
