Kent State University at Tuscarawas is announcing the signing of a 2024 Dover High School senior to their volleyball team.

Mackenzie Neininger recently signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Golden Eagles.

Neininger, primarily a middle hitter/outside hitter, was a three-year varsity starter for the Crimson Tornadoes volleyball team and also plays for Club Extreme 18U Diamond. In three varsity seasons she amassed 277 kills---with a high of 143 her senior year---168 digs with just two serve receive errors and 55 service aces. She earned All-Ohio Valley Athletic Conference recognition as a senior.

While at DHS, she enrolled in the College Credit Plus program and will graduate from high school having earned 28 college credits. She is an Honor Roll student and has received numerous Academic Letters as well. Her volunteerism includes assisting with youth leagues and biddy ball.

She will pursue a degree in nursing at Kent State Tuscarawas.

"Mackenzie is going to be a huge addition offensively for our program," said KSU Tuscarawas Head Volleyball Coach Cortney Goodwin. "Her natural talent and willingness to be coached are unmatched and she is going to be a real force in the front row."
