Dakota Wright serves as the Athletic Director and Men’s Golf Coach at Kent State University at Tuscarawas. A native of New Philadelphia, Ohio, Dakota is an alumnus of Kent State Tuscarawas, where he competed for three seasons on the men’s golf team while earning a Bachelor of Science in Sports Administration through Kent State University.
In 2024, Dakota assumed the role of Athletic Director, succeeding longtime AD Rob Brindley. Since taking on this leadership position, Dakota has played a key role in launching three new sports programs, demonstrating his commitment to expanding athletic opportunities on campus. His leadership also contributed to a historic milestone: the women’s volleyball team captured the university’s first-ever USCAA Division II National Championship in 2024.
Currently, Dakota is pursuing a Master’s degree in Sports Administration, further enhancing his knowledge and leadership to support the continued growth and success of Kent State Tuscarawas athletics.
