Andrews Men drop close game to Kent State Tuscarawas

The Andrews Cardinals Men's Basketball team lost a close game at home last night to the visiting Kent State Tuscarawas Golden Eagles 66-59. Andrews struggled to find rythm in the first half and the Golden Eagles built a 12 point lead at the break. Turnovers contributed largely to the first half struggles as Andrews commited 15 to Kent State's 3. The Cardinals played much better in the second half, fueled by the arrival of Joshua Fitzpatrick, however the deficit was too much. Denzel Daniel led the Cardinals with 22 points and 8 rebounds, while Mylon Weathers added 14, and Fitpatrick had 10, all in the second half. Andre Leavell led Kent State with 19. Denzel Daniel stated that turnovers were the biggest reason that the Cardinals fell behind early but also found some positives from the game, "We made a few mistakes towards the end of the game, but we did alot of good things." Daniel said that the most important factors for success moving forward are being patient with the ball and making smart passes.

Andrews looks to bounce back tonight with a double header against the visiting Campbellsville Tigers.
