She won the Striver Award given out to the Louisville bowler who is constantly working toward improvement and continues to work hard all year-round. The recipient also seeks extra help outside of scheduled practices.

In 2022, she made First Team National Division in the Stark County High School Bowling Conference and is within the Top 7 bowlers in that division. An award will be presented to her at the conference banquet.

The daughter of Michael and Tracy Thornhill, she will pursue a bachelor's degree in psychology at Kent State Tuscarawas.

"Alysa is the quintessential student athlete," said Vera Fox, Head Bowling Coach for Kent State Tuscarawas. "She is a very caring and compassionate young lady and is dedicated to her family and community. She is going to do some great things in her career, and she just happens to be a great bowler as well. I know that her graduation is a huge loss for Coach Stallman, but at the same time it's a huge boost for our team."

Kent State Tuscarawas is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).
