Kent State University at Tuscarawas is announcing the signing of a 2024 Northridge High School and C-Tec senior to their women's bowling team.

Cheyenne Shepler recently signed a National Letter of Intent to bowl for the Golden Eagles.

Shepler showed great improvement as a new bowler and earned a one-year varsity letter on the Vikings Bowling Team during her senior year. She is excited for the opportunity to continue her bowling journey at the collegiate level and continues to work extremely hard to keep her stride at the next level. She has also been a cheerleader for seven years in the Northridge School District and won an All-American Cheer award. Shepler has played numerous roles in NHS musicals and plays and attends C-Tec where she is in the veterinary science program.

Her community service includes stints as a biddy cheer coach for Northridge Elementary School, job shadowing at local animal hospitals where she has assisted in surgical procedures and operating room cleanup. She has also painted murals on the walls of a Johnstown area doggy daycare after school.

Shepler has been an Honor Roll and Merit Roll student throughout high school and attended a COTC college program for a week of art. She was awarded a $1000 scholarship at the COTC event and although she has numerous hobbies, but professes that her number one hobby is art.

She will pursue a degree in veterinary technology at Kent State Tuscarawas.

"Cheyenne is a young lady with many talents," said KSU Tuscarawas Head Bowling Coach Patrick Beckley. "She has the uncanny ability to accomplish just about every goal she has set for herself, but her real passions lie with veterinary science and bowling. She's a very talented individual and once she sets her mind to something, she gives the utmost effort to achieve it. She's come a long way in bowling and we welcome her enthusiasm to learn more."
