Kent State University at Tuscarawas is announcing the signing of a 2019 Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School senior to their baseball team. Owen Nunnally recently signed a National Letter of Intent to play baseball for the Kent State Tuscarawas Golden Eagles.

Nunnally, a catcher, is a four-year letter winner and starter for the Vikings baseball team and twice garnered First Team, North Coast League – White Division honors. VASJ will be playing in a district final game against Kirtland this week and Nunnally has caught two consecutive complete games by a senior battery mate. He is this year's recipient of his school's Kathryn Kerver Scholarship, awarded for academic accomplishments and respectful treatment of others. He has more than 67 hours of community service in his four years of high school, most which have been served volunteering at the Cleveland Clinic helping nurses with their daily tasks and assisting patients.

"We have filled a huge hole at the catcher's spot with a great catcher and an even better person," said Adam Wilson, Head Baseball Coach for Kent State Tuscarawas. "Owen has been a stalwart player for the Vikings in his four years. He is great defensively, is consistent at the plate and is a real student of the game. His wish to continually improve himself and his game will benefit our team and those around him. We are so proud to have signed such a giving and caring person."

Kent State Tuscarawas is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).
