Kent State University at Tuscarawas is announcing the signing of a 2024 Beaver Creek High School senior to their baseball team.

On Wednesday, Nathan Ashcraft signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Golden Eagles.

Ashcraft is on pace to be a three-varsity letter winner for the Beavers, who play in the Greater Western Ohio Conference in the Southwest District of the Ohio High School Athletic Association. He had a batting average of .310 on the year.

He has maintained a 3.0 GPA throughout his high school career for the Orange and Black. He also competed in a DECA competition, which is a challenge for DECA members in online business simulations and finished sixth place in the contest.

As part of his volunteerism, Ashcraft assists with clean up after services at his church conclude and also participates in helping children with special needs at his school.

He will pursue a Bachelor's of Business Administration degree at Kent State Tuscarawas.

"Nathan's size as a pitcher, at 6'3, 190lbs, would be appealing to any baseball coach," said Cole Morozek, Head Baseball Coach for Kent State Tuscarawas. "We will work to increase the velocity of his fastball which is already solid like his off-speed stuff. Nathan's team plays baseball in a quality Southwestern Ohio conference which will help prepare him to take the mound at the collegiate level come fall 2024. "

Kent State Tuscarawas is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).
