Kent State University Tuscarawas Golden Eagles With Tough Game Against Defiance College

Kent State University Tuscarawas Golden Eagles had trouble keeping up with Defiance College in a 21-3 loss on Sunday.
 
Defiance College got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Connor Gephart grounded out, Gunner Gregg walked, Mitchell Roever grounded out, and Kent State University Tuscarawas Golden Eagles committed an error, each scoring one run.
 
Defiance College added one run in the second after Gregg singled down the left field line.
 
Defiance College scored nine runs on five hits in the bottom of the third inning. Jacob Hild hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, Tyler Dehan singled, scoring one run, Alex Rodriguez III singled, scoring two runs, Elisa Marquez singled, scoring one run, Anthony Silvera Jr. drew a walk, scoring one run, and an error scored one run.
 
Carter Kennon homered to left field, scoring three runs in the bottom of the sixth for the Defiance College.
 
Ryan Heu started on the hill for Kent State University Tuscarawas Golden Eagles. The righty surrendered three hits and 10 runs (five earned) over two and two-thirds innings, striking out none and walking seven. Blake Bowman stepped on the mound first for Defiance College. The lefty allowed six hits and three runs (zero earned) over five innings, striking out six and walking two.
 
Alex Biars and Caleb Salgado were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Kent State University Tuscarawas Golden Eagles while hitting back-to-back. Jeremy Patchett and Biars were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Kent State University Tuscarawas Golden Eagles.
 
Defiance College collected 14 hits in the game. Kennon went 1-for-1 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. Dehan led Defiance College with three hits in three at bats. Marquez and Greg Kita each collected multiple hits for Defiance College. Silvera Jr. led Defiance College with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting 13 walks for the game. Bowman threw an immaculate inning in the first, striking out the side on nine pitches. Defiance College stole four bases in the game. Defiance College turned one double play in the game.

Kent State University Tuscarawas Golden Eagles had trouble keeping up with Defiance College in an 11-2 loss on Sunday.
 
Defiance College got on the board in the first inning after Tyler Dehan singled, scoring two runs.
 
A single by Jacob Hild, a walk by Dehan, and a single by Mitchell Roever helped Defiance College extend their early lead in the second.
 
Dakota Foltz pitched four and two-thirds innings in relief for Kent State University Tuscarawas Golden Eagles. The reliever surrendered seven hits and five runs (three earned) while, striking out three and walking three. Joe Fischer led things off on the bump for Kent State University Tuscarawas Golden Eagles. The hurler gave up six hits and six runs over one and one-third innings, striking out one and walking four. Donovan Armstrong started the game for Defiance College. The southpaw allowed four hits and two runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out six and walking one.
 
Leadoff hitter Caleb Campbell led Kent State University Tuscarawas Golden Eagles with two hits in four at bats. Andrew Powell and Foltz each drove in one run for Kent State University Tuscarawas Golden Eagles.
 
Defiance College collected 13 hits in the game. Hild and Gunner Gregg each collected three hits for Defiance College.
