IVHS’s Jewett Commits to KSU Tuscarawas Cheer & Dance Team

Kent State University at Tuscarawas is announcing the signing of a 2020 Indian Valley High School senior to their cheer and dance team. On May 4, 2020, Alexis Jewett signed a National Letter of Intent to cheer for the Golden Eagles Cheer Kent Tusc team.

Jewett was a four-year letter winner for the Braves varsity football, basketball and competition cheerleading teams. She was a member of Indian Valley's 2019 National Cheerleading Championship team and a cheer program which recorded multiple championships at the state and local level. She is also on the dance team at Melody and Motion School of Performing Arts.

She participates in Tuscarawas County 4-H and has raised market hogs all throughout high school.

Jewett will major in nursing at Kent State Tuscarawas.

"Lexi is a great addition to our squad," said Terra Frye, Head Cheer Coach for Kent State Tuscarawas. "I have known her for a long time and she has always exuded confidence, a positive attitude, and athleticism, all qualities that along with being a solid student have led to her success. She knows how to bring it and will be a standout Cheer Kent Tusc member."

Kent State Tuscarawas is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).
