With the game still very competitive at 49-41 and 11 minutes remaining in the game, Hanover College went on a 22-0 spurt to take control and down the Kent State Tuscarawas Golden Eagles 85-47 in second round action of the Connor Classic held at Thomas More University in Northern Kentucky. The Panthers led 29-22 at halftime before they went on a big run while the navy and gold committed the bulk of their 19 turnovers which led to 26 Blue and Red points.

Hanover forced the Golden Eagles into a .333 shooting clip, while converting on 66.7 percent in the second half to run away with the win. Kent State-Tuscarawas had Hanover in its largest deficit of the season, four points, as the Golden Eagles led 16-12 midway through the opening half and despite making just 10-of-28 field goal attempts, the Blue and Red rallied to take a 29-22 lead at the intermission.

The Panthers were only able to extend their lead to eight points, 49-41, with 11:26 left to play. After giving up a basket near the midway point Hanover opened up the game with a 22-0 run, holding the Eagles scoreless for over seven minutes of play as they outscored the Golden Eagles 56-25 in the second half, to secure the 85-47 triumph.

The Golden Eagles were led in scoring by Shakur Daye (Statesville, NC / West Iredell) as the only Navy and Gold player in double figures with 11 points, while Luke Butcher (Beloit, OH / Salem) and Gunnar Tharp (East Canton, OH / Canton South) both scored nine each and Malik Campbell (Canton, OH  Canton South) added five rebounds. With the loss the Golden Eagles fell to 1-6 on the season.
