For nearly 32 minutes the winner of the Golden Eagles battle with PSU Beaver was in doubt, but the Nittany Lion roared to a late lead after three straight Navy and Gold turnovers to win 82-62 in Monaca, PA. The game was tight throughout the first half as neither team mounted more than a four point lead and saw five ties and six lead changes.

The Golden Eagles trailed 31-28 at the break, but mounted several challenges in the second half and grabbed a quick five point lead right out of the locker room. After being forced to take several timeouts, Beaver fought back and managed to tie the game at 45-45 with 12:04 left to play. The Eagles quickly responded with five straight of their own to take a 50-45 on a three point basket by Gunnar Tharp and a steal and layup by JaJauntae Young.

That lead was short lived however, as the Lion fought back to tie things once again at 54-54 at 8:34 left in the game. They would then turn three consecutive Golden Eagles turnovers into an eight point advantage at 62-54 and the visitors would get no closer than 62-57 after a three point goal by Drew Williams at the 6:04 mark. PSU Beaver would score on three straight possessions again as they out scored the Eagles 20-5 down the stretch for the final 20 point margin.

Gunnar Tharp led KSU Tusc with 16 points, scoring 14 in the second half while making 5/7 field goal attempts with 3/5 behind the three point arc. Drew Williams added 12 and was the only other Golden Eagle in double digits. Jacob Hicks was the leading rebounder with six and also scored eight points.
