Golden Eagles Leavell Named USCAA POTW

The Golden Eagles Andre Leavell has been named the USCAA Men's Division II Basketball Player of the Week.  Leavell was key in two victories last week for the Golden Eagles.  He shot 58% from the floor, scored 48 points, grabbed 20 rebounds and made 5 steals in games against Wayne College and Miami Middletown.  On Wednesday, against Wayne College, he scored 22 point, while shooting 10 of 11 from the charity stripe.  He also added 7 rebounds and two steals.  Leavell came right back on Saturday with a double-double, 26 points and 13 rebound performance.  His steal and dunk with 1:19 left to play broke open a close game as the Golden Eagles won their second game in a row.

A freshman, from Canton McKinley Senior High School, Leavell is KSU Tusc's team leader in scoring and rebounding. He currently averages 15.4 point per game and 5.8 rebounds per game.

Leavell is the second Golden Eagles basketball player to earn Player of the Week honors this season.
