Kent State University at Tuscarawas is announcing the signing of a 2020 Garaway High School senior to their basketball team. On April 25, 2020, Brevan Raber signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball for the Kent State Tuscarawas Golden Eagles.

Raber was a two-year letter winner for the Pirates basketball team and primarily played point guard. He earned an IVC (Inter Valley Conference) Honorable Mention and an East District Special Mention after his senior season. He was also awarded a Gold Certificate from the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association (OHSBCA) Scholarship Society in 2020. The OHSBCA Gold Certificate is awarded to high school seniors who display high marks in academics, citizenship and sportsmanship. To receive the award, seniors must have earned a minimum 3.2 Grade Point Average for seven consecutive semesters.

He placed on the Honor Roll all four years of high school, was a four-year academic letter winner and was a member of the National Honor Society for two years.

"Brevan is a great student academically and on the court," said Richard Tharp, Head Basketball Coach for Kent State Tuscarawas. "He is a very cerebral young man and also brings great anticipation as part of his game. He has been a steadying force at Garaway and his leadership and presence on the floor takes coaching to a new level."

Kent State Tuscarawas is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).
