Kent State University at Tuscarawas is announcing the signing of a 2020 Rittman High School senior to the men's basketball team.

On June 4, 2020, Reese Ringer signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Golden Eagles.

Ringer, was a two-year letter winner for the Indians basketball team and was a standout on the gridiron as well. He received the Rittman Coaches' Award in basketball, while also receiving an Honorable Mention on both the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association All-District 4 and Northeast Inland District teams. He was also named a Second Team Offensive All-Star in the Wayne County Athletic League (WCAL) and was invited to participate in the 2020 Hidden Gems Showcase.

A quarterback in football, he was a three-year letterman at Rittman and received both the Standout Player and Offensive Player of the Year awards his senior year. He earned Second Team WCAL honors and an All-Northeast Inland District Honorable Mention Division VI from the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association.

He will major in computer animation and game design at KSU Tuscarawas.

"We are very glad that Reese chose to continue his athletic and academic careers with us," said Richard Tharp, Head Basketball Coach for Kent State Tuscarawas. "He really excelled his senior year and has great court awareness which comes directly from his play at quarterback in football. He's very savvy, has great anticipation and sees the play before it opens up. He's a winner and I look forward to having the opportunity to work with him."
