A Kyle Shockley dunk off the opening tap was an ominous sign for the Titans on Sunday afternoon in Founders Hall Gym. It was the spark that led to an 11-0 start and a full-blown conflagration in a 40-point 102-62 KSU Tusc victory over visiting CC Beaver County.

Add in a triple by Ethan Bower followed by a Kameron Shockley steal for a lay in, a pair of Kyle Shockley free throws and a Vinny Roper back door cut for an easy basket and you have the kindling that helped fan the flames to a white hot start. It wasn't until two and one-half minutes had passed that CCBC finally got on the board, but they were already reeling and trailing 11-2.

After Braden Rostad canned three-balls on back-to-back possessions for an 18-8 lead, the heat only intensified. He was sweltering and rained down a third heat seeking missel from behind the arc after a skip pass from Kyle Shockley at the 11:39 mark to ignite a 21-5 KSU Tusc run for a 39-13 lead.

The Eagles outran, outrebounded, out-shot and otherwise irritated the Titans into a spate of turnovers coming up with four steals, two dunks and several offensive stick backs as the fire licked at the Titans sneakers. There would be no respite for CCBC as the Eagles closed the opening 20 minutes leading by as many as 32 points and singeing the nets with six balls from behind the arc. At the intermission the navy and gold held a 51-23 lead.

KSU Tusc was never threatened in the final half as they matched their first half offensive output of 51 points. The game never got closer than 20 points (70-50) as they dunked home six balls and went on a 12-0 tear near the end of the contest stretching an 86-61 advantage to 98-61. A triple with :17.4 seconds left a scorch mark in a 102-62 win and ended the blaze.

Five Golden Eagles scored in double figures with Kameron Shockley leading the way with a double-double scoring 19 points and clearing 10 rebounds. Kyle Shockley was right behind with 18 points, while Rostad had 17, Mekhi Johnson added 13 and Derion Lee 10.

Breaking a three-game losing streak, the Eagles now stand at 4-3 on the year and travel to Penn Highlands on Friday, December 1st for a 6 p.m. start.
