The accolades keep pouring in for Kent State Tuscarawas junior guard Kyle Shockley. At the completion of the USCAA D2 National Basketball Championship game on Wednesday, he was named to the 2024 USCAA D2 All-Tournament Team. He's the first Golden Eagles player to earn the award.
In two games during the championships, Shockley scored a total of 62 points (31 ppg), made 20/38 action shots (53%), converted on 21/26 free throws (81%), grabbed 16 rebounds (8 rpg), had nine assists and blocked five shots.
Shockley ended 1st in the USCAA and on the team in total points scored with 654, was 5th overall in scoring at 21.1 ppg, shot 52.4% from the field for the season, was 3rd in field goals made (231-441), was first in free throw attempts (170-251), ranked 12th in assists (117) and 13th in steals (64).
His exploits earned him two USCAA Player of the Week awards and a Second Team All-American honor this season.
