The men's golf team plodded their way around the Avalon Field Club in New Castle, PA and finished ninth in a field of 11 teams at the Westminster Titan Invitational on Monday. With a team score of 344, the Golden Eagles managed to finish well ahead of an NCAA D-III and an NAIA school. Pitt Bradford outdistanced the field with a winning score of 303.

As a team the Navy and Gold could only muster 26 pars and three birdies on the day and shot 14 strokes above their season average, which would have put them in a fifth place finish on the afternoon. Nick Reeder was team medalist with a round of 42/39/81 and was followed into the clubhouse by Dakota Wright's round of 85. Adam Matusik shot 88 and Kade Rainsberg nursed a sore back to a round of 90.

The Golden Eagles have qualified for the United States Collegiate Athletic Association national golf championship scheduled for the White Course at Penn State University on October 7-8. The tournament will complete the fall season.
