Golden Eagles Golf 6th After Gatorade First Round

The Golden Eagles golf team finished sixth of nine teams after the first round of the 2022 Gatorade Collegiate hosted by the College of Wooster at Zoar Golf Club on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles shot a team score of 331 and were led by freshman Cole Eltringham.

Eltringham shot an even par 36 on the outward nine while carding three birdies in his first-ever collegiate golf round. He followed that up with an inward nine of 40 to finish with a 76 to take team medalist honors. On the day he led the tournament field in par 3 scoring going two under par with an average score of 2.50 and also made 10 pars.

Senior teammate Nick Reeder shot 40/39/79, was eighth in par four scoring and had two birdies, while junior Cameron McIntosh contributed a 39/44/83 with three birdies and was eighth in par five scoring with and average of 4.75. Freshman Nicholas Wolverton added a 50/43/93.

KSU Tusc will play in the final round of the two-day classic on Saturday which was led by the College of Wooster (294) after first round action.
