The KSU Tuscarawas golf team hosted the annual Golden Eagle Invitational at Oak Shadows Golf Club on Friday and finished as runners-up, while senior Nick Reeder took home tournament medalist honors.

It was the second straight year that the Eagles finished in second behind defending invitational champion Geneva College. The Golden Tornadoes shot a team total of 336, besting KSU Tusc (347) by 11 strokes on a very breezy afternoon.

Reeder played the opening nine in one over par, shooting a 37 while recording a birdie and seven pars. On the inward nine he had six pars and carded five of them on holes 11 thru 15 for a closing 41 and a round of 78. He had 13 pars and one birdie for the day.

Nicholas Wolverton shot 45/43/88, Cole Eltringham went 47/42/89 and Cameron McIntosh 49/43/92 to round out the team scoring. Scottie Sauernheimer added a 47/47/94.

On Sunday, the Golden Eagles defend their two-year streak as champions of the Penn State Greater Allegheny Invitational as Youghiogheny Country Club in McKeesport, PA.

After holing out on No. 14, Nick waits to replace the flag.
