Lions Waller To Golf For Golden Eagles

Kent State University at Tuscarawas is announcing the signing of a 2023 Minerva High School senior to their golf team.

On May 5, 2023, Case Waller signed a National Letter of Intent to tee it up for the Golden Eagles.

Waller was a four-year letter winner for the Lions golf team, who play in the Eastern Buckeye Conference (EBC) of the East District. He earned First Team EBC honors as a senior, along with being tabbed as a Second Team selection in 2021 and Honorable Mention in 2020. In 2022 and 2021 he garnered Second Team East District honors and qualified for the district golf tournament for the second consecutive year. Waller received a First Team All-Stark County nod in 2021 and was an Honorable Mention All-Stark County in 2020, to go along with being a two-time EBC Scholar Athlete.

Academically, he had the highest GPA (4.391) among his classmates during a single nine-week period. He earned Excellence in Honors Spanish 3, government and algebra 2 as a junior and Excellence in Honors Spanish 4 and college math as a senior.

His community service includes involvement as a member of the Crescent Yearbook staff (2019-2023), Debate Club (2021-2023), Created to be Called---student bible study (2022-2023), Project 7---student led bible study (2021-2023) and Chess Club (2019-2023).

He will pursue a Bachelor's of Business Administration / Business Management degree at Kent State Tuscarawas.

"Case has worked hard and has a boat load of God-given talent," said Rob Brindley, Head Golf Coach and Athletic Director for Kent State Tuscarawas. "He is well-liked by everyone and was recommended to me by a former AD at another school. His academic prowess is second to none and his dedication to service is admirable as well. As a golfer he certainly has achieved, but I feel he knows that he can still improve his game and he will dedicate himself to doing so. We welcome him to soar as a member of the Golden Eagles golf team."

Kent State Tuscarawas is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).
