Kent State University at Tuscarawas is announcing the signing of a 2018 Claymont High School senior to their softball team. On May 3, 2018, Micaiah Stemple signed a National Letter of Intent to play softball for the Kent State Tuscarawas Golden Eagles.

Stemple was a three-year letter winner for the Mustangs softball team and was named Outstanding Outfielder for three consecutive seasons. She was recently named the Player-of-the-Game vs. St. Clairsville contest. Stemple is also a member of the National Honor Society, is on the Honor Roll, serves on Student Council, was named to the Principal's List, was recognized as Student-of-the-Month and achieved High Honors.

"Micaiah is a very well rounded student athlete and we are pleased for have her sign a letter of intent," said Chuck Peach, Head Softball Coach for Kent State Tuscarawas. "She only knows one gear and is very competitive in the classroom and one the field. I don't think the word "can't" is in her dictionary. I look forward to coaching Micaiah and having her help us toward our dream of a national championship."
