Sandy Valley Senior Commits to Play for Golden Eagles Softball Team

Kent State University at Tuscarawas is announcing the signing of a 2019 Sandy High School senior to their softball team. On March 19, 2019,  Montana Boyer signed a National Letter of Intent to play softball for the Kent State Tuscarawas Golden Eagles.

Boyer will earn her three-year letter for the Cardinals softball team this spring and was the starting second baseman on Sandy Valley's 2017 Regional Runner Up Team. She is also a four-year letter winner on the SVHS bowling team, where she twice earned Inter Valley Conference Second Team honors (2017 & 2019) and an Honorable Mention (2018). She was Sectional Individual Bowling Champion in 2019 and finished fourth as an individual in 2017. She is a three-time district qualifier in bowling and was named Sandy Valley's Bowling MVP in 2018 along with being tabbed as an IVC All-Star. She also lettered in volleyball one year. Boyer is a two-year Scholar Athlete Award winner, member of the dance team, is the school mascot, a youth volleyball coach and will be a third generation Kent State graduate. She will pursue a degree in nursing at Kent State Tuscarawas while playing softball and bowling.

"And, we are well aware of Montana's accomplishments and very pleased to have her coming to us. She is very well liked, very dedicated and a great member of the Sandy Valley community. She is a great find for us and I expect her to raise the level of play on our team, because her personality and work ethic are infectious ."

Kent State Tuscarawas is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).
