The KSU Tusc softball team could only manage five hits and two runs as they were swept in a doubleheader on the road to Cuyahoga Community College on Monday night. The Golden Eagles were shutout in the first game 11-0 and lost 17-2 in the second.

Tri-C's Brooke Grider tossed a perfect game in the opener when she did not allow a single Navy and Gold base runner, struck out six and issued no walks. The powerful Triceratops had 12 hits in the game, five of which we extra base hits which included a homerun. The first inning was all the hosts would need as they led off the game with a triple, single and added a sacrifice fly to take a 2-0 lead after one inning. They added three more runs in the second, five tallies in the third and one more in the bottom of the fourth for the final margin. Grider is now 9-2 on the mound for the winners who had 17 hits in the game.

In the nightcap, Lindsay Caldwell started the game with a lead-off single, stole second base, moved to third on a single by Micaiah Stemple and scored on a field's choice to break the Golden Eagles baserunning and scoring drought. The 1-0 was short-lived however, as the Tri-C hitting parade continued as they plated four runs in the bottom of the first, and five in each of the second and third innings to take control 14-1.

The Golden Eagles showed signs of life as Stemple doubled to start the fourth inning and advanced to third base on a wild pitch. She scored on an RBI single by Karlee Peach who was eventually stranded as first. Tri-C added three more runs in the bottom of the fourth before the game was halted and they pounded out 21 hits. Stemple was a perfect 2/2 at the plate for the Eagles in game two. 

Tri-C advanced to 28-6 (9-1) on the season as the reigning two-time Ohio Community College Athletics Association Champions continued to dominate the diamond. The Golden Eagles had five hits in the game and are still looking for their first win of the season.
