Kent State University at Tuscarawas is announcing the recent signing of a 2019 East Canton High School senior to their softball team. On May, 8, 2019, Harley Mason signed a National Letter of Intent to play softball for the Kent State Tuscarawas Golden Eagles.

Mason, a pitcher/infielder, is a two-year letter winner for the Hornets softball team and earned Honorable Mention district honors as a junior.  She currently has the highest batting average in the Inter Valley Conference (IVC), hitting at a .574 clip on the season and is ranked seventh for Stark County High School hitters. As a junior she smacked a walk-off grand slam in an OHSAA District Final game to advance her team to regional play in the Sweet 16. In the classroom she has achieved a 3.0 GPA and is on the East Canton Merit Roll. She plans to major in business administration at Kent State Tuscarawas.

"We are so fortunate and proud to have Harley coming to play for us," said Chuck Peach, Head Softball for Kent State Tuscarawas. "She has certainly been a force for East Canton over the last two seasons and has really come on. At the plate she strikes the ball with authority and it's not unusual to see her dive for a ball, because she gives maximum effort on every play. She also has great movement on her pitches and can really paint the corners. Harley really loves this game and she will bring her winning attitude to Golden Eagles softball!"

Kent State Tuscarawas is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).
