Kent State University at Tuscarawas is announcing the signing of a 2021 St. Clairsville High School senior to their softball team. On April 28, 2021, Kaile Thomas signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Golden Eagles.

Thomas, an outfielder/pitcher, is a four-year letter winner in softball, having lettered two seasons for the Red Devils softball team and two years for Union Local. She has been a member of the softball team for four years of high school and played for the Muskie Chix travel softball team.

She has been on the Academic Honor Roll throughout her freshman, sophomore, junior and senior years and also earned her State of Ohio Nurse Aide certificate from Belmont Career Center. While in the Allied Health Program, Thomas passed both of her Ohio Career Technical Competency Assessments.

As part of her community service activities, she helped at youth softball camps and was active in the Project Manna Food Drive.

A resident of Flushing, Ohio, she will major in nursing at Kent State Tuscarawas.

"Kaile is the quietest recruit I have ever had, but on the diamond she transitions to beast-mode," said Chuck Peach, Head Softball Coach for Kent State Tuscarawas. "We are looking for her to round out our pitching staff and give us more depth at that position. She has primarily been used as an outfielder because of her speed, which is much needed on the bases and in the outfield. She has a big heart and will do whatever it takes to help the program."
