Kent State University at Tuscarawas is announcing the signing of a 2024 Little Miami High School senior to their softball team.

On Wednesday afternoon, Skyla Fecher signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Golden Eagles.

Fecher, primarily a pitcher, will earn her second letter this spring for the Panthers softball team who play in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference of the Southwest District. She has a career pitching record of 23 wins to just five losses and a stellar 84% strike-to-ball ratio. She struck out 17 batters in one game and has a career best 1.277 ERA. She's very efficient at the plate as well and has logged a .333 career batting average.

Academically she carries a 3.65 cumulative GPA and has been recognized as an academic scholar for all four years of high school. She has also received a Student-of-the-Month award at LMHS.

Her community service includes volunteerism for The Miracle Network, Autism Awareness, numerous Little Miami youth softball camps as well as other camps in the Greater Cincinnati area. Fecher has also assisted in Challenger League softball games.

She will pursue a degree in criminology and justice studies at Kent State Tuscarawas.

"We are very excited to have Skyla join our program," said KSU Tuscarawas Head Softball Coach Larry Schall. "She really excels in the classroom and will be a great student at our campus. In addition to her strong academics, she has a solid history of giving back to the community. Skyla will provide us a spark in the circle with her ability to hit her spots and keep batters on their toes. She comes in with a very successful pitching record and we expect her to continue that success at the collegiate level."
