Kent State - Tuscarawas Fall After Strong Showing By Harriers

Kent State - Tuscarawas couldn't keep up with Harriers and fell 9-1 on Saturday.
 
Kent State - Tuscarawas got on the board in the first inning after Amanda Lillis doubled, scoring one run.
 
Harriers took the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Alexis Arnold singled to center field, Reagan Butikofer singled to center field, Lynnsey Garcia doubled to right field, and Michela Collins singled down the right field line, each scoring one run.
 
A single by #14 extended the Harriers lead to 6-1 in the bottom of the second inning.
 
Ashley Legg started the game for Kent State - Tuscarawas. The right-handed pitcher gave up 15 hits and nine runs (five earned) over four and one-third innings, striking out one and walking one. Skyla started the game for Harriers. The starting pitcher surrendered two hits and one run over five innings, striking out six and walking one.
 
Lillis went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Caitlynn Edwards and Lillis each collected one hit for Kent State - Tuscarawas. Edwards stole two bases.
 
Harriers amassed 15 hits in the game. #14 drove the middle of the lineup, leading Harriers with three runs batted in. The catcher went 2-for-3 on the day. Caitlyn Stewart led Harriers with three hits in four at bats. Collins, Kyley Bland, Butikofer, and Garcia each collected multiple hits for Harriers. #14 stole two bases. Harriers ran wild on the base paths, piling up five stolen bases for the game. Harriers were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. #14 had the most chances in the field with seven.

Kent State - Tuscarawas Fall Victim To Harriers Rally

Kent State - Tuscarawas lost to Harriers 16-8 on Saturday even though they once led by four runs.
 
Ashley Legg drove in four runners in the loss. The right-handed hitter went 1-2 on the day.
 
Harriers jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after H Gardner drew a walk, scoring one run, and Reagan Butikofer singled, scoring two runs.
 
Harriers added one run in the second. Gardner grounded out, making the score 4-0.
 
Kent State - Tuscarawas flipped the game on its head in the top of the third, scoring eight runs on six hits to take the lead, 8-4. The biggest blow in the inning was a grand slam to center field by Legg that drove in four.
 
Harriers flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the third, scoring six runs on three hits to take the lead, 10-8. The biggest blow in the inning was a ground out by Kyley Bland that drove in two.
 
Harriers scored five runs on four hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. A steal of home scored one run, Bland doubled, scoring two runs, Caitlyn Stewart singled, scoring one run, and Gardner tripled, scoring one run.
 
Harriers scored one run in the bottom of the fifth on a solo home run to center field by Butikofer.
 
Gabriela Rivera stepped in the circle first for Kent State - Tuscarawas. The right-handed pitcher allowed eight hits and 13 runs over three and one-third innings, striking out three and walking eight. Abby Goodpaster stepped in the circle first for Harriers. The left-handed pitcher allowed eight hits and six runs over four and one-third innings, striking out five and walking five.
 
Rivera and Amanda Lillis each collected two hits for Kent State - Tuscarawas. Kent State - Tuscarawas worked the count all day, accumulating six walks. Kent State - Tuscarawas were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Legg made the most plays with four.
 
Harriers amassed 12 hits in the game. Alexis Arnold, Bland, Butikofer, and Stewart each collected two hits for Harriers. Bland, Butikofer, and Stewart each drove in three runs for Harriers. Harriers had a strong eye at the plate, amassing eight walks for the game. Gracie Elliott and Gardner led the team with two free passes each. Michela Collins, Bland, Bri Rose, Elliott, and Butikofer each stole multiple bases for Harriers. Harriers ran wild on the base paths, collecting 15 stolen bases for the game.
