Kent State - Tuscarawas fell to Penn State New Kensington 8-3 on Saturday.
 
Kent State - Tuscarawas were the first to get on the board in the first when Krystal Spillman grounded out, scoring one run.
 
Penn State New Kensington jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Olivia Waldrop grounded out, and Linda Shepard doubled down the left field line, each scoring one run.
 
Penn State New Kensington added one run in the third. Brookelyn Kotch singled to center field, making the score 3-1.
 
Kent State - Tuscarawas scored two runs in the top of the seventh on a home run by Ashley Legg.
 
Legg opened the game for Kent State - Tuscarawas. The starter surrendered 10 hits and eight runs over six innings, striking out four and walking six.
 
Legg drove the middle of the lineup, leading Kent State - Tuscarawas with two runs batted in. The pitcher went 1-for-3 on the day. Spillman, Caitlynn Edwards, and Legg each collected one hit for Kent State - Tuscarawas. Edwards stole two bases. Kent State - Tuscarawas didn't commit a single error in the field. Kent State - Tuscarawas Fall After Strong Showing By Penn State New Kensington

Kent State - Tuscarawas couldn't keep up with Penn State New Kensington and fell 11-3 on Saturday.
 
Penn State New Kensington got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Antonia Velasquez singled, scoring one run, a wild pitch scored one run, and Piper Zufall singled, scoring two runs.
 
Penn State New Kensington added one run in the second after Linda Shepard singled to center field.
 
A triple by Jayde Riviera, and a double by Tori Johnson helped Penn State New Kensington extend their early lead in the third.
 
Olivia Waldrop earned the win for Penn State New Kensington. The reliever allowed three hits and three runs (two earned) over four innings, striking out five and walking two. Gabriela Rivera took the loss for Kent State - Tuscarawas. The right-handed pitcher went four innings, giving up 11 runs on eight hits, striking out two and walking 10.
 
Lily Specht went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Krystal Spillman, Specht, and Rivera each collected one hit for Kent State - Tuscarawas. Kent State - Tuscarawas were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Grace Yoder made the most plays with three.
 
Johnson led Penn State New Kensington with three hits in three at bats. DJ Kali Barnett, Zufall, Riviera, and Johnson each drove in two runs for Penn State New Kensington. Jaiden Patterson paced Penn State New Kensington with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting 10 walks for the game. Johnson stole two bases. Penn State New Kensington ran wild on the base paths, piling up five stolen bases for the game.
