Kent State University at Tuscarawas is announcing the signing of a 2019 Harrison Central High School senior to their wrestling team. On March 29, 2019, Blayne Erwin signed a National Letter of Intent to wrestle for the Kent State Tuscarawas Golden Eagles.

Erwin was a four-year letter winner for the Huskies wrestling team and was also a two-year letterman in football. He is a three-time district placer and placed second in the sectionals during his sophomore season. He has 97 career wins and was 36-9 in his final season on the mat for the Huskies. Erwin won the Most Takedowns award during his final two years as a Huskie and was not pinned over that period of time. He will major in mechanical engineering at Kent State Tuscarawas.

"Blayne is a raw talent that can develop into something special," said Dave Schlarb, Head Wrestling Coach for Kent State Tuscarawas. "Technically, he is a pretty good wrestler and he has a lot of desire. He is very humble, but all business when he gets on the mat and I fully expect him to be up to the challenge of collegiate wrestling."

Kent State Tuscarawas is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).
