Kent State University at Tuscarawas is announcing the recent signing of a 2019 Reynolds High School graduate to their wrestling team. On May 28, 2019, Derek Skeehan signed a National Letter of Intent to wrestle for the Kent State Tuscarawas Golden Eagles.

Skeehan, a heavyweight, is a four-year letter winner for the Raiders and earned two trips to the state meet, placing sixth at the state meet this past winter in the 285lbs weight class and helping his team to a 4th place finish.  He also earned the Greenville Lions' Club adversity award this past season.  Derek also excelled on the football field, earning second team all-region and being recognized for his leadership.  Skeehan has been named to the honor roll and high honor roll for his accomplishments in the classroom.

"We are excited and proud to have Derek coming to wrestle for us," said Dave Schlarb, Head Wrestling Coach for Kent State Tuscarawas. "He has been able to achieve great results while competing against some of the best competition in Pennsylvania.  His dedication and leadership will help the team continue to compete at the National level.  We are looking forward to getting him on campus and helping him prepare for continued success."
