The Kent State Tuscarawas Wrestling Team lost 35-18 to host Case Western Reserve University in the final match of the day in the CWRU Duals and finished 1-2 in the competition. A pin and two forfeits were the difference in the match.

Mason Contini got things off to a great start for the Golden Eagles as he won by a 7-0 decision over the Spartans Aidan McCooey in the 174lb. match. Contini gave the Navy and Gold an early lead and finished the day as one of two Kent State Tusc wrestlers to go undefeated for the day at 3-0. Lane Householder pinned CWRU's Brandon Barton in 34 seconds and was also unbeaten against his three opponents.

Freshman newcomer Elijah Nash recorded a pin 21 seconds into the second period of his match against Adam Kats to keep the match close at 18-9 after Contini's win. The last win for the Golden Eagles came from Collin Mancuso with an 8-5 decision over Kyle Roberts in the 165lb. class, as both he and Nash ended the Duals with 2-1 records.

With the regular season finished, the wrestlers will start working toward the USCAA National Wrestling Championships scheduled for Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Rec Hall on the campus of Penn State University in State College, PA.
