Tornado Volleyball Player Ciera Romig Commits to KSU Tuscarawas

Kent State University at Tuscarawas is announcing the recent signing of a 2019 Dover High School graduate to their Volleyball team. On June 14, 2019, Ciera Romig signed a National Letter of Intent to play volleyball for the Kent State Tuscarawas Golden Eagles.

Romig, who is a defensive specialist and played libero, was a member of the varsity Tornadoes.  During her senior season on the court, Ciera specialized in back row defense, helped lead her team to the Sectional Finals before falling to the eventual District Champions.  She is also a 3-year member of Club Extreme Volleyball in Massillon, helping her club to multiple successful tournaments.  Ciera has also been highly successful in the classroom and in her community.  She has earned a 3.7 GPA while taking AP courses at Dover High School and was part of the Art Club and Key Club, where she served as Secretary and Vice-President.  She also takes time to volunteer as a youth volleyball coach and at First Church of God in New Philadelphia.  Ciera will be studying radiology at Kent State Tuscarawas.

"Ciera fills a need for us as a back-row specialist for the upcoming year," said Mindy Craig, Head Volleyball Coach for Kent State Tuscarawas. "It takes a special person to play in the back row, willing to give up their body for the team to win.  I have been watching her play for several years, and her energy and skill will help take this team to new heights.  We are very fortunate to have her as a Golden Eagle."

Kent State Tuscarawas is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).
