The Kent State Tuscarawas volleyball team's winning streak ended at two games, after they lost a three-set match to visiting Penn State Shenango on Tuesday night in Founders Hall Gym. The Lions took control early in each match as they won 25-20, 25-15 and 27-25. The Golden Eagles are now 4-5 on the season having won three of their last five matches.

In the first set, the Eagles fell behind quickly before calling timeout when they trailed 10-1. Despite rallying to within 20-18 the visitors took control at the end winning 25-20. The second set was more of the same as the Navy and Gold made numerous passing mistakes and several serving errors as they lost by 10 points. In the final set, the match was tied at 4-4 before Shenango took a 14-6 advantage and the Eagles had to rally once and drew to within 17-14. Things were much closer the rest of the way and KSU led at one point 23-21. PSU tied up the match at 24-24 and won on two straight points after things were knotted at 25-25.

Mya Blochlinger led the way for KSU with 11 kills, while Karlee Peach had 20 assists.

On Thursday the volleyball team travels to Ohio State Mansfield who they beat last week in three sets.
