Blochlinger Heads List Of Golden Eagles Volleyball Players Earning All American Honors

Freshman outside hitter, Mya Blochlinger, has been named to the USCAA Volleyball Division 2 All-America First Team. Blochlinger was one of ten players voted to the elite squad in voting released on Sunday. She ranked first in the nation in kills per set at 4.48, was second overall in points per set with 5.4, sixth in total kills with 278 in 20 matches this season and 17th in blocks. She is an early childhood education major and a major force on the Golden Eagles volleyball team.

Three other Golden Eagles earned spots on the USCAA Volleyball Division 2 National All Academic Team. Morgain Little, Karlee Peach and Alexis Zehnder were all recognized for academic excellence and having GPAs above the minimum 3.5 in order to be considered. Little is majoring in veterinary technology, while Peach is in the business management program and Zehnder is working toward an early childhood education degree. Little finished the season ranked fifth in the USCAA in blocks per set, and Peach, who was recently recognized as national setter of the week, was fifth overall in assists per set. All were major contributors to the success of this years team.

The names of all award winners were announced at the championship banquet in Virginia Beach, VA during the volleyball national championships.
